Q: What is an IP address?
A: Every device connected to the public Internet is assigned a unique number known as an Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses consist of four numbers separated by periods (also called a 'dotted-quad') and look something like 127.0.0.1.

Since these numbers are usually assigned to internet service providers within region-based blocks, an IP address can often be used to identify the region or country from which a computer is connecting to the Internet. An IP address can sometimes be used to show the user's general location.

This also limits the ability of the user to host websites, mail servers, ftp servers, etc. In addition to users connecting to the internet, with virtual hosting, a single machine can act like multiple machines (with multiple domain names and IP addresses).

A: No. IP Address will change, unless you are using proxy or VPN solutions.
Q: Why is my address listed as Torrene . California.  How did this come about?
A: That means that IP you are using belongs to that area. Internet websites will detect that you are from that area too.

A: Yes it is. You can use proxy server or VPN for it.

A: You are probably using proxy or VPN server that is located in california.

A: You can use proxy servers, VPN or just go to another ISP (Internet service provider), i.e. go to cafe with WiFi.
Q: How to make IP Address point to my own location
A: You can't do that. There are IP databases that contain information of what location IP address belongs. If you want IP address point to your location, you need to change IP.
Q: Can your computer be hacked by using an IP address?
A: Basiclay yes, it can be hacked. If there are security vulnerabilities on that computer, hackers can try to use them and attack your computer, if they know your IP.
Q: If someone writes a review on yelp for example about my restaurant but does not want yelp to know if there is more than one review from that computer can it be done with VPN?
It depends on the website. There are different methods to track user. If tracking users is done only by IPs, than yes, using VPN will change the IP address and from the website point of view it will be different user
Q: Was surprised to see I was able to change my IP address. I'm a XYZ customer and have had same IP since forever. Is this legal??? and how do I get my old IP address back and keep it? One service I subscribe to didn't recognize me because of the diffrnt IP and thought someone had taken control of my IP address or hacked or ?? Would like to remove this from my computer. How do I do this and get my old IP adrs back??
A: You are using proxy or VPN, so your IP has changed. You were not hacked and your old IP address is not taken by anyone, it's still yours. You just need to turn off proxy/VPN so service you are using will start to see your old IP.
Q: I wanna know the countries IP range, I would appreciate if you send me counties and their areas(if it's available) IP range.
A: Such information changes frequently, and there is no world standard database for it. We are using different techniques to get such database and unfortunately can't share it.
Q: I need my IP address to show that I am in XYZ and not ABC. How do I do that?
A: To do that you need internet connection from that area. You can go into internet from ISP from that place, or try to find proxy/VPN from that area. 
Q: It says I am located in ABC. I am really located in XYZ. Why the error?
A: IP databases are not perfect and there can be location errors. Data is updated periodically to fix such problems. Or you might use proxy or VPN that will change your IP address and thus determination of your location.
Q: I want to know may I use my IP address for my cellphone GPRS?
A: Yes you can use it on GPRS/3G/4G/LTE or whatever Internet connection you are using. 
Q: why does my IP addey say that I'm in ABC and Facebook says they have me tagged XYZ? This concerns me greatly
A: There are different methods to determine your location, but none of them are 100% accurate. We use our algorithm to depetermine user's location, that is different to Facebook's, thats why location is different.

A: You can only get telepthone number of the Internet Service Provider. It can be found on ISP's website. Your ISP can be found on the findipinfo.com main page.
Q: What was my IP address before
A: findipinfo.com do not store such information, but other websites can store this information in cookie files.
Q: What is the difference between mac address & ip address?
A: MAC address is assigned to your network card (but you can change it) and is used in your local network only, so websites will not see it. IP address is the address that is used in the Internet and is assigned to you by ISP, and websites see it.
